Palm tree

Preparation time: 5min   |  Servings: 1 Palm tree dessert for kids

Another crafty afternoon for my daughter, this time palm trees! Very original, especially that we are end of autumn… but she still remembers our spring holidays under palm trees on the beautiful Bahamas beach. She wants to go back there and keeps repeating that we need to go for our next spring vacations. I think these palm trees she made, was yet another message to us:) So when I proposed her to make a palm tree for a dessert, she jumped for joy and ate it all!

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • 3-4 green grapes
  • 3 blueberries
  • 2-3 tablespoons of natural yogurt

Did you know that palm trees appear on the flags and seals of several countries/places, such as Haiti, Guam, Saudi Arabia, Florida and South Carolina?

Preparation

Palm tree step1 Step1

Cut off top and bottom of each grape and then cut it in half. Peel the orange. You can use the orange sections directly or prepare it without the white membrane. To do so, you need to cut off the top and the bottom of the orange first so that the orange flesh is visible. Then cut the peel from top to bottom following the curving shape of the orange. Cut in between the white sections: slice the core of the section by placing your knife as close to the white membrane as possible.

Palm tree step2 Step2

Use a spoon to spread the yogurt on the plate. Place the orange sections to make the palm leaves. Make the palm trunk by placing the grapes, starting from the leaves to the bottom of the plate. Place the blueberries as the coconuts. Enjoy!
