Strawberry maple leaf

June 20, 2013 by Gosia

Preparation time: 5min | Servings: 1

This strawberry maple leaf is the easiest dessert ever! I made it with my daughter recently, as Ottawa is getting ready to celebrate Canada Day on the 1st of July. So we are getting ready too! My daughter still remembers the last year celebration and she cannot wait to see the fireworks this year. It seems that it was the best part of the whole party:)

When we were making this maple leaf, she helped me to put all the strawberry slices on the plate and was watching the maple leaf appearing. If you want to have some fun with your kids, just cut the strawberries for them and let them be creative!

To have even more fun before, during or after your dessert, you can use this free printable coloring page: Strawberry_maple_leaf_free_printable_coloring_page.Strawberry maple leaf dessert for Canada day 1st of July

Ingredients

  • 5-6 strawberries

Did you know that Canada Day is the national day of Canada, celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act from 1867, which united three colonies into a single country called Canada?

Preparation

Step1 Cut all strawberries into thin slices. The best is to use small fruits, as it is easier to shape the maple leaf with smaller slices. Strawberry maple leaf dessert for Canada day 1st of July step1
Step2 Start to make the maple leaf from the top leaf, then make the side leaves and finish by the bottom. Enjoy! Strawberry maple leaf dessert for Canada day 1st of July step2
