Who doesn’t love Minnie Mouse? I guess all kids do and my daughter is no exception. Since she met Minnie and her friends at Disneyland, Minnie became her best companion. She loves to play with the plush Minnie we brought as a souvenir from our trip. One day, I wanted to make beetroots as a side dish to go with a fish, but my daughter was not really found of it.. It is sometimes hard to try new things when they look strange… Humm. So I had an idea – fish for the face, black rice for the ears and the beetroot mousse for the bow, here it is: Minnie Mouse! Guess who ate the whole meal with a big smile and loved the beetroot mousse :)
Ingredients
- 2-3 tablespoons of black rice
- 1 white boneless fish filet
- 1 beetroot
- 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese
- 2 black olives
- goat creamy cheese
- salt, oil
Preparation
Step1
Cook the rice following the instruction on the package you bought. Peel the beetroot, cut it into cubes and cook it until tender. When it is cooked, mix it with ricotta cheese until getting a mousse texture. Fry the fish in a pan for a few minutes on each side until well cooked. Place it in a plate and divide into small pieces using a fork (this way you can also double check if there are no bones, as there may be some even in boneless fish filet…)
Step2 When everything cooks, prepare different shapes in the following way:
Step3 Place everything on a plate: start with the rice making ears first and the rest of the head (you can just use a spoon). Then place the fish making Minnie’s face. Make the bow and the mouth from the beetroot mouse. Place the spots from the cheese on the bow. Make the eyes from the cheese and the olives and the nose from the olive. Enjoy!
