Have you ever seen a blue golden frog? I did! Not sure how this could happen, but she was gorgeous! I saw her last summer when visiting my parents, she was just there, sitting on the edge of a small pond in their garden. Few days ago I was reading to my daughter and the story was about Frog Princess . I asked my daughter if she remembered this blue frog we saw last summer, but she didn’t. So I showed her some pictures we took last summer and then we decided to make a beautiful frog sandwich – Frog Princess, of course:) As it was too hard to make a blue frog, we did a green one with avocado on top of the sandwich. It was really yummy!

Ingredients

  • 1-2 slices of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice of ham
  • 1 black olive
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 slice of orange cheese
  • butter
  • 1 salad leaf
  • few grains of canned corn
  • ketchup
  • spices: pepper, paprika, salt

Did you know air can pass through frogs highly permeable skins? This unique feature allows them to remain in places without access to the air, respiring through their skins. For the skin to serve as a respiratory organ, it must remain moist.

Preparation

Step1 Boil eggs for about 8-10min. When done, cool them with cold water. Cut the bread into the following pieces to make frog’s body, legs, head and crown:Frog sandwich for kids step1

Step2 Cut the same shape from the ham, as you did with the bread for the frog’s head in Step1. Cut the same crown shape from the cheese, as you did with the bread for the crown in Step1. Prepare two slices of boiled egg to make the eyes.Frog sandwich for kids step2

Step3 Mix avocado with spices, adjust the quantities to your taste. Place the salad leaf on the plate and then dispose all the bread parts. Place the ham on the ‘head’ part and cover all parts, except the crown, with the avocado mix. Place cheese on the bread to make the crown. Place egg slices to make the eyes. Cut two small dots from the olive using a straw and make the nose. Paint the mouth with ketchup and make a necklace with canned corn. Enjoy!Frog sandwich for kids step3
