Winter seemed to last a very long time this year… Beginning of April, we started to smell spring approaching, but then, yet another winter storm surprised us. My daughter was really concerned, as she already noticed some tulip’s stems coming out from the ground in our backyard. She was not sure what would happen to them, would they make it through the snow? Suddenly she said she got an idea and disappear for a while in her room. Then she came with a cute drawing: nice flowers on the grass and a big, bright sun. She said that she made this for Mrs Spring and when she saw it she would be back. Isn’t that a cute idea? To amplify it, we made this easy and cute tomato, cucumber & cheese sandwich. Now, Mrs Spring will definitely come!

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of bread (round)
  • 1 slice of cheese
  • 1 black olive
  • 6-7 cherry tomatoes
  • cucumber
  • 1 radish
  • 1 canned corn
  • butter

Did you know that in Northwest European folklore the ” Easter Bunny ” is a hare, not a rabbit? According to the legend, only good children received gifts of colored eggs in the nests that they made in their caps and bonnets before Easter.

Preparation

Step1 Cut cherry tomatoes in half. Cut a rectangle and two leaf shapes from the cucumber. I used round bread and round slice of cheese for this sandwich, if you don’t have them, just cut the same circle shapes from your bread and cheese. Cut two lune shapes from the olive and also from the radish. Tomato cheese flower sandwich for kids step1

Step2 Spread butter on bread and place cheese on top of the sandwich. Place all the tomatoes around. Use the cucumber to make the flower stem and leaves. Place olives to make the eyes, radish to make the mouth and corn to make the nose. Enjoy! Tomato cheese flower step2
