I have decided that this year the whole family will cook together during Christmas time, yeah! There will not only be Mom in the kitchen:)
In fact, I wanted to get my daughter involved more in the Christmas meals preparations in order to start teaching her all the food traditions that I brought from home. In Poland, we make 12 traditional meals for our Christmas dinner, so there is a lot of preparation and cooking! To make all that a bit more fun for my daughter, I had this idea to make matching aprons for all of us. I found a cute Christmas fabric, bought a pattern and made it! If I could, you also can! It was really easy and I think it turned out great:)
The apron pattern I bought, McCall’s M5720, is very easy, the guidelines are straight forward. You can use this pattern to make 3 different styles of mom & daughter matching aprons.
What you need
- McCall’s Patterns M5720 Misses’/Children’s/Girls’ Aprons, All Sizes
- fabric
- thread
- rick rack (optional)
- ruffled trim (optional)
- buttons (optional)
How to make it
I have also made an apron for my husband:) I haven’t used the same pattern, I have just cut one big piece of fabric and have made it more ‘straight’, so it wouldn’t look like a skirt. Now, the whole family is ready for some Christmas fun in the kitchen!
If you can’t make an apron on your own, you may check apron’s collection on Amazon, like this Snowman apron or Children’s Aprons on Flirty Aprons, I am sure you will find something for you! Happy Cooking:) Easy to sew Christmas apron for kids tutorial
