Winterlude is a festival, organized each year in Ottawa and Gatineau to celebrate winter. During 3 weeks in January and February, there are a lot of places in the city where you can go and have some winter fun! You can skate on the world’s largest skating rink– Rideau Canal, admire the ice sculpture competitions in the Crystal Garden (see photos below) or play at North America’s largest snow playground – Snowflake Kingdom, with amazing snow glides and snow activities for kids. It is a great way to have everyone outside, even if it is so cold!
This was our last weekend in Ottawa, ending our 3 years adventure in North America. We are taking a plane in a couple of hours to go back home to France. We really enjoyed it here! We met great people and made amazing friends. We visited a lot of beautiful and wild places and we did many activities we would have never done in Europe. We will miss all that for sure (maybe not so much the long and cold winter …) and we hope we will come back here one day! For now, we are saying:
bye, bye Canada!
Yummy Maple taffy made on the snow!
Winterlude Ottawa 2014 and bye, bye Canada!
