When I was looking for activities and crafts suitable for my daughter's butterfly birthday party, I came across this cute tissue paper butterfly craft. When I showed it to my daughter, she said she would really love to make one like that. When I went to buy all the craft supplies, I found nice colorful clothes pins with a little magnet inside. I thought they were just perfect, as they could not only hold the butterfly wings together, but also be used to place the butterfly on the fridge, making a nice decoration! We also added a ribbon, so the butterfly could be hanged out somewhere or used as a necklace :) Yes, kids have great imagination! So our butterfly craft can stand, fly and shine on the fridge!
Step1 Cut out squares of tissue paper in 4 different sizes: 25x25cm, 20x20cm, 15x15cm, 10x10cm. You may use different colors to make the butterfly more colorful.
Step2 Prepare antenna for your butterfly. Take a pencil and wrap your pipe cleaner around it few times. Then slide the pencil out and repeat the same for the second end of the pipe cleaner.
Step3 Gather the center of all 4 tissue papers and wrap a pipe cleaner around the center. You can make it as accordion pleat or just gather it with your fingers. You may twist it off a bit, if necessary.
Step4 Insert the ribbon inside the clothes pin, then insert the craft from Step3.
Step5 Pull apart the layers of tissue paper, make adjustments whenever necessary. Enjoy!
