Milka, the laughing cow

Preparation time: 10min |  Servings: 1

A week ago, my daughter went on a school trip to the Agriculture Museum – the Farm. There was a lot of activities organized for the kids: crafts, exhibitions visits, hands-on experience and of course a lot of different animals to see. My daughter loves the farm and I think many kids do. It is really nice to visit it at spring, as there are a lot of cute, new-born animals there! For some reason, my daughter’s favorite animal this time was a cow. She saw different kinds of cows and was really curious why they had different colors. I tried to do my best to explain that over this funny sandwich that we called Milka, the laughing cow:) Hope your kids will like it too!

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of bread
  • 2 blackberries
  • 2 raspberries
  • creamy cheese (e.g. Philadelphia)
  • 1 slice of apple
  • a bit of red (raspberry or strawberry) jam

Did you know that cows have one stomach with four compartments? This way their digestive systems allows use of otherwise indigestible foods by regurgitating and rechewing them.

Preparation

Step1 Cut the bread into the following pieces: 1 big round piece for the cow’s body, one smaller for her head. Cut two small bread pieced for the legs.

Step2 Place all bread parts on the plate and spread the white cheese on top. Cut the blackberries and place them on the bread, use them also to make the cow’s tail. Cut an oval shape from an apple and use to make cow’s mouth. Place small blackberries parts on it, use them as well to make the eyes (you can also use raisins to make the eyes). Place two raspberries to make the ears. Enjoy!
