How to make homemade blackcurrant jam

Preparation time: | Cooking time:

Summer time is great to prepare all kinds of healthy jams and juices for the cold winter days. One of my favorite is a homemade blackcurrant jam and it is about the time to make it now!

Blackcurrant fruit is rich in vitamin C, it contains several times the recommended daily dietary reference intake per 100 g. It has also good levels of potassium, phosphorus, iron, manganese and vitamin B5, as well as a broad range of other essential nutrients. So the juice or jam made of it is perfect for colder days, both for kids and adults as a preventive measure against the cold. Great and natural booster, which is also very yummy: my daughter simply loves the bread with butter and blackcurrant jam. Give it a try too!Homemade Blackcurrant Jam recipe

  •  250g blackcurrant
  •  2 tablespoons of sugar

Step1 Wash blackcurrants; you may also mix them with redcurrants if you wish. Then add sugar and leave it for a while. I normally use 2 tablespoons of sugar for 250g of blackcurrent, but you may like it more sweet. Homemade Blackcurrant Jam recipe step1 Homemade Blackcurrant Jam recipe step2

Step3 Then pour the mixture to a jar, close it and return it upside down, so it closes well. Leave it like that for a couple of hours, then store it for later or try it out:) Enjoy! Homemade Blackcurrant Jam recipe step4a Homemade Blackcurrant Jam recipe step4b
