Summer time is great to prepare all kinds of healthy jams and juices for the cold winter days. One of my favorite is a homemade blackcurrant jam and it is about the time to make it now!
Blackcurrant fruit is rich in vitamin C, it contains several times the recommended daily dietary reference intake per 100 g. It has also good levels of potassium, phosphorus, iron, manganese and vitamin B5, as well as a broad range of other essential nutrients. So the juice or jam made of it is perfect for colder days, both for kids and adults as a preventive measure against the cold. Great and natural booster, which is also very yummy: my daughter simply loves the bread with butter and blackcurrant jam. Give it a try too!
