Sunflower – peach, blackberries and yogurt

Preparation time: 10min |  Servings: 1

Here are some photos of a gorgeous sunflower, planted by my daughter! This was in fact a project she started at school. All kids in her class discovered different kinds of seeds and learned how they grew. They were asked to select seeds they liked and then planted them in small plastic cups. Each day, there was one person responsible to water them. My daughter chose her sunflower seeds which grew into a small plant that she brought home at the end of the school year. We re-planted the sunflower in our garden and watched it change to a big, beautiful flower.

This gardening adventure inspired me to make a little surprise for my daughter. One day I prepared a peach and blackberry sunflower for her dessert. She loved it, though she said her real flower plant was prettier:) Well, I guess I need to improve my skills for the next time!Sunflower - peach, blackberries and yogurt easy dessert for kids with title

Ingredients

  • 1 peach
  • 4-5 blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons of yogurt

Did you know that the flower of a sunflower is actually several flowers, which is why it is considered an inflorescence, i.e. a group of several flowers?

Preparation

Step1 Spread the yogurt on the plate:Sunflower - peach, blackberries and yogurt easy dessert for kids step1
Step2 Peel off the peach and cut it into several thin slices. Sunflower - peach, blackberries and yogurt easy dessert for kids step2
Step3 Place all the peach slices onto the yogurt shaping the circle. That will make sunflower petals. Place blackberries in the middle to make the seeds. Enjoy!Sunflower - peach, blackberries and yogurt easy dessert for kids step3
