My daughter loves homemade pancakes. I often bake her as an after-school snack or as a breakfast during the weekend, when I have more time to cook and she has more time to eat! It is actually a great breakfast idea for kids – you can sneak some fruits in their tummies already in the morning! My daughter’s favorite are pancakes with apples and maple syrup. Hum, how yummy!
My daughter doesn’t like monsters, spooky and scary characters, she rather prefers princess’ stories or even real life documentaries. But, in this period of Halloween, she can hear all the kids around her talking ghosts, bats, witches etc. So I have decided to make her a ‘bats and ghosts’ dessert.
Last weekend we started to clean up our backyard from all the leaves that has fallen. There were a lot of them as we had a few windy days just before. At one point of time, my daughter said: “Mom, what are we going to do with all these leaves?!?” I said, that we can think of something and asked her to select some of the most beautiful leaves. See what we did :)
Last weekend we welcomed autumn and when I was doing my grocery shopping, pumpkins were all over the place. I let my daughter pick one and told her we would be making some pancakes. She loved the idea! When I asked her what kind of cute presentation of this meal she wanted, she said: a snake! Of course, this couldn’t be more simple:) So here it is, our funny snake made of a pumpkin pancake wrap, stuffed with smoked salmon, spinach and ricotta. Yum!
During our holidays this year, we happened to see a lot of swans. Both white ones and black. They were really gorgeous. One day, we were at the lake admiring the sun preparing to sunset. We spotted a swan family with two little ones…
Vacation time or a weekend can be a perfect time to make this cute teddy bear sandwich for your kid’s breakfast. With a little bit more of your morning time, you can have a delicious, nutritive sandwich with a baked egg. It is very easy to make, healthy and will keep a little stomach full for quite a while.
